CD duplication CD ROM duplication (aka 'burned' discs) is a recording process suitable for smaller quantities of discs (usually under 500). They are different to replicated (aka 'pressed') discs that are only economical to manufacture in large quantities (usually over 500).

Duplicated CDRs are where the information is burnt on to recordable discs and are done in-house, usually with a high quality thermal print on the disc. In our production process all these discs are verified against the supplied master to ensure the copies are correct. This method is used if the turnaround time required is very tight (or less than 500 discs are needed).

Depending on the quantity needed and when the master comes in, we frequently turn the in-house jobs around in as little as a day. However, as this method is more labour intensive this method is more expensive than replicated discs. So when time permits the replicated method is preferable to use.
